Agda Burchard and her husband Tom have lived in Kent for over 20 years. Their daughter Sam is a proud graduate of the Kent School District and Highline College.

Agda knows how to work collaboratively with others so that children thrive in school and life.  She’s served as a PTA leader, Girl Scout troop leader, Kent International Festival volunteer, and a director of an early childhood non-profit organization. In 2016, Agda was named Outstanding Advocate of the Year by Kent Area Council PTA and Washington State PTA.

Voters elected Agda to the Kent School Board in 2013, after she was appointed in 2012.  Before then, Agda served on KSD’s Strategic Planning and Family & Consumer Science/Culinary Arts Committees. Since 2010, she has served as a steering committee member of Citizens for Kent Schools (school bond and levy campaign.)

Agda works for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the Administration for Children and Families. She has a M.A. in Human Development: Early Childhood Education & Leadership in Education and a B.A. in Sociology.
